New Zealand: North Island

01

I set off on foot on the 600km journey from the tip of the North Island, Cape Reinga, to Auckland, New Zealand's biggest city. The Northland greeted me with mostly untouched and rugged landscapes shaped over time by the surrounding waters of the Pacific Ocean on the east and the Tasman Sea on the west. I walked on countless vast white sand beaches, and trekked through dozens dense, muddy rain forests with each new landscape offering something special and unique. From Auckland, I went by car to explore the country's capital, Wellington, along with the intense geothermal landscapes of Lake Taupo and Lake Rotorua. Finally, I headed down to the Coromandel beaches to try and capture the famous natural rock formations jutting out of the sea.
